Liesl Eichler Clark

Liesl Eichler Clark is deputy director of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic Growth (DELEG). Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm appointed her to the position in January 2008 in conjunction with an executive order that aligned all energy sector initiatives within one department, including the Bureau of Energy Systems and the Public Service Commission. Ms. Clark’s area of responsibility includes these offices as well as the Land Bank Fast Track Authority. As deputy director, she oversees all government-related energy sector activities to make Michigan a national leader in renewable energy, advanced energy technologies, and energy efficiency. Ms. Clark comes to DELEG from Gov. Granholm's office, where she served as policy advisor for energy, agriculture, environment, and natural resources. Previously, she worked for the Department of Agriculture as policy advisor for renewable fuels and as legislative liaison. Ms. Clark has also served with the Senate Democratic Caucus as policy advisor for agriculture and environment. She holds a master's degree in public administration from Michigan State University.
