A senior principal in the firm, Thomas G. Appleman is a past coleader of the firm's Corporate and Transactions Practice Group, a past leader of the firm's China business team, and is a member of its Global Automotive and International practice teams. Mr. Appleman's practice specialties include strategic and complex inbound and outbound foreign direct investment and multinational cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, strategic alliances, corporate governance and compliance, and domestic and international commercial transactions. With his colleagues at the firm, he assists clients around the world with their global legal and business needs including navigating complex legal and regulatory requirements, securing tax and economic development incentives, licensing and protecting patents and other intellectual property, negotiating agreements with customers and vendors, meeting immigration requirements, navigating trade and customs issues, planning and coordinating legal diligence reviews, and facilitating dispute resolution. Mr. Appleman is a member of the American Bar Association and the Business Law and International Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan.
