Of counsel to her firm, Linda Miller Atkinson is licensed in Michigan and an emeritus member of Wisconsin and Georgia State Bars. She serves as a mediator in both Michigan and federal courts, and she has tried cases throughout Michigan in both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas for over 44 years. Ms Atkinson served as Sagola Township trustee from 1996 to 2004 and as transportation commissioner for the state of Michigan from 2004 to 2012. She is the recipient of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Champion of Justice Award in 2007, the Mel Award of the Melvin M. Belli International Law Society in 2006, the Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 1995, and the Women Trial Lawyer’s Caucus Marie Lambert Award in 2000. Ms Atkinson is a past president of the Michigan Association for Justice and is a member of the AAJ’s President’s Club as well as a fellow and trustee of the Pound Civil Justice Institute. She is the author and editor of "Lawyers Desk Reference" (8th ed), and the author of the "Depositions" chapter in "Litigating Tort Cases," published by AAJ Press. Ms Atkinson teaches firearm handling and hunter safety for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and is in her 25th year with the National Ski Patrol.
