Brian G. Shannon

Southfield, Michigan

Brian G. Shannon has specialized in appellate advocacy, primarily civil, for over 40 years. In 1995, he was a founding member of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan and served as the section's first chair. For 20 years he was on the Michigan Appellate Bench Bar Conference Foundation's planning committee, helping to plan and stage appellate bench-bar conferences since 1995. He was named a Lawyer of the Year in 2007 by "Michigan Lawyers Weekly" for his appellate work. He is recognized in the 2021 edition of "Best Lawyers in America" for appellate practice. Currently, he is appellate counsel for a deserving juvenile lifer, advocating for her right to a parole hearing after 30 years of incarceration.
