Jeffrey E. Kirkey joined ICLE in 1998 and now serves as the Institute's executive director. He guides its overall direction, including day-to-day operations, content development, and strategic initiatives. Before becoming director, Mr. Kirkey served for three years as ICLE's first Chief Learning Officer, following thirteen years as ICLE's Education Director. He has also coached ICLE's co-ed softball team for 27 seasons. Mr. Kirkey is active in the Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA), serving as president in 2024-2025 and frequently presenting at ACLEA conferences on technology, leadership, innovation, and business-related topics. He co-founded and serves as the annual moderator of ACLEA's Executive Leadership Flight School. Before joining ICLE, Mr. Kirkey worked at a small law firm in Ann Arbor and headed a computer consulting firm specializing in helping law offices. A member of the State Bar of Michigan, he is a past chair of its Young Lawyers Section and also served on the State Bar's Board of Commissioners.
