Mark R. Bendure concentrates his practice in the areas of trial and appellate litigation, primarily in business, personal injury, civil rights, and employment law. After working at the Michigan Court of Appeals as a pre-hearing research attorney and as a law clerk to Hon. Michael Kelly, he was a founding partner of Gromek, Bendure, and Thomas (now Bendure and Thomas) Law Firm. Mr. Bendure has been lead trial counsel for plaintiffs in trials resulting in verdicts exceeding $20,000,000 and lead appellate counsel in over 300 appeals with successful outcomes in the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, and Michigan Court of Appeals. He has also been a settlement mediator for the Michigan Court of Appeals Pilot Program and an investigator and fee arbitrator for the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission. Mr. Bendure serves on the Michigan Supreme Court Committee on Model Civil Jury Instructions. Author of several articles, he has been a speaker for the Michigan Association for Justice, American Bar Association's Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section, and ICLE and a moderator for Michigan Appellate Bench-Bar Conferences. Named a "Michigan Super Lawyer" annually since 2007, Mr. Bendure has been recognized as a top lawyer in Detroit by both "Crain's Detroit Business" and "DBusiness Magazine."
