Kaitlin (Katie) A. Brown is a partner at the firm. Specializing in employment law, she focuses on counseling employers to take measures to prevent more costly claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and improper payment of wages. Ms. Brown has worked with clients in many industries, including automotive, corporate, medical, educational, nonprofit, and financial. Her experience ranges from working with administrative agencies to large firm litigation. Ms. Brown was recognized by "Crain's Detroit Business" among Notable Women in the Law in 2021, was recognized by "Michigan Lawyers Weekly" as a Go-To Lawyer in the Law and was admitted into their 2021 class of Women in the Law, and was recognized by Oakland County Executive's Elite 40 Under 40 Class of 2020. She was also recognized as an Up and Coming Lawyer by "Michigan Lawyers Weekly" in 2016, has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers since 2014, and was the 2021 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA). She led the OCBA's diversity and inclusion committee as chair from 2019 to 2021, during which time the organization developed an antiracism statement and partnered with several professionals to lead and deepen conversations aimed at having a meaningful impact on the legal and community landscape throughout metropolitan Detroit. For many years, Ms. Brown was active in the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, where she served on the gender equality committee and the nominating committee, and served in other roles in the Women's Bar Association.
