Catherine P. Kaufman, a partner in the firm, practices in the area of municipal law, including all facets of municipal representation, with a concentration on land use, zoning, and planning matters. She has served as an advisor to municipal planning commissions and zoning boards of appeal as well as to developers, private citizens, and environmental groups. Ms. Kaufman has also worked as a land use planner in both the public and private sectors and is active in the Michigan Association of Planning. A member of the State Bar of Michigan and its Government Law (renamed from Public Corporation Law), Real Property Law, and Marijuana Law sections, she is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Ms. Kaufman serves on the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs' Marihuana Advisory Panel, representing townships. Mrs. Kaufman is a frequent instructor on land use and zoning issues for the Michigan Townships Association, Michigan Association of Planning, MSU Extension Citizen Planner Course, and the Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys.
