David A. Moran is a clinical professor of law at the University of Michigan Law School, where he teaches courses in criminal law and criminal procedure and directs the Michigan Innocence Clinic, which has exonerated 32 wrongfully convicted criminal defendants since its founding in January 2009. From 2006 to 2008, he was an associate professor and associate dean for academic affairs at Wayne State University (WSU) Law School, where he joined the faculty in 2000. Prof. Moran has argued five cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, including a Double Jeopardy case, Evans v Michigan, which he won in 2013, Halbert v Michigan, which he won in June 2005, and a Fourth Amendment case, and Hudson v Michigan, which he lost in June 2006. He has published articles in, among other journals, "Cato Supreme Court Review," "Ohio State Law Journal," "Villanova Law Review," and "American Criminal Law Review." In 2010, "Michigan Lawyer's Weekly" named Prof. Moran "Lawyer of the Year."
