Linda S. Ross practices in the area of health care law. She joined Honigman Miller Schwartz & Cohn LLP in 1989 and is a partner in the Health Care Department. Ms. Ross' legal practice involves affiliations, acquisitions, mergers, reorganizations, joint ventures, and other transactions involving hospitals, physicians, group practices, and other health care providers. She also regularly advises clients regarding issues related to the administrative simplification provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as well as on other E-Health matters, such as telemedicine, privacy and health information technology contracts. Ms. Ross also represents clients in connection with physician contracts, tax-exemption matters, corporate governance, and fraud and abuse matters. Before attending law school, she developed community-based oral cancer screening programs and educational resources on head and neck cancer and established an oral health program within a men's correctional institution. Ms. Ross also served as a dental consultant to Head Start programs involving Native Americans and migrant workers throughout the United States. She is a member of the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and was a member of the HIPAA Task Force. Ms. Ross is also a member of the Michigan Society of Healthcare Attorneys and the American Health Lawyers Association. She is a frequent lecturer on HIPAA and related matters.
