Maurice G. Jenkins has practiced labor and employment law for over 25 years. He has litigated labor and employment cases in various states around the country and has extensive experience in preventive counseling to management with respect to legal compliance, labor issues arising from corporate reorganizations, and wrongful discharge and discrimination issues. Mr. Jenkins is a nationally recognized litigator who has first chaired bench and jury trials, labor and civil rights arbitrations, NLRB hearings, and state civil rights administrative cases for global, national, and local companies. He has handled whistleblower investigations and litigation; investigated alleged financial reporting improprieties; provided assessments and advice with respect to establishing and maintaining effective employee "hotlines" and other internal reporting structures; and evaluated conflict of interest guidelines implemented by various multinational companies. Mr. Jenkins served on the American Bar Association's Task Force on Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and handles internal investigations and litigation arising under SOX. An accountant before becoming a lawyer, he began his professional career as a financial and tax analyst at General Motors Corporation and then, after graduating from law school, advanced to become GM's chief labor counsel before embarking on a career in private practice. Since entering private practice, Mr. Jenkins has represented global automotive original equipment manufacturers, dealers, and suppliers and companies involved in global telecommunications, financial services, national retailers, pharmaceuticals, health care services, entertainment media, and major retailing.
