Ashlee Nicole Duplessis has been a Michigan-based criminal defense attorney for her entire career. Ms. Duplessis has served as a court-appointed attorney in Genesee, Wayne, and Shiawassee Counties in the areas of violent crimes, sex crimes, and abuse and neglect proceedings. She is a member of the Prisons and Corrections Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, and the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Michigan. A graduate of Michigan State University (MSU) College of Law's Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute and the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan Trial College, Ms. Duplessis acted as a student attorney in the MSU Civil Rights Clinic where she represented Michigan inmates who sued the Department of Corrections in federal court for violations of their civil rights. She has clerked for the State Appellate Defender Office on their juvenile lifer cases.
