Daniel R. Victor (deceased)

Daniel R. Victor was a solo practitioner and the legal counsel to the national nonprofit, Grandparent Rights Organization. He was also a nationally published authority on the issues of ethical billing and retainer agreements in domestic relations cases and pre- and postnuptial agreements. Mr. Victor had successfully argued on multiple occasions before both the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court. Several of the seminal child custody cases in the State of Michigan were cases he took all the way from the trial court level, through the Court of Appeals, to the Supreme Court. An adjunct professor of family law at the Michigan State University College of Law, Mr. Victor had also been involved with continuing legal education as a panel speaker and author on family law issues. He had been named a Rising Star and a Michigan Super Lawyer by "Super Lawyers Magazine"; a Leader in the Law by "Michigan Lawyers Weekly"; and one of "The Best Lawyers in America" by "U.S. News and World Report." Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Victor clerked for Chief Justice Conrad L. Mallett, Jr., of the Michigan Supreme Court and Hon. Joan E. Young, presiding chief judge of the Oakland County Circuit Court. He died November 12, 2019.
