Lorne B. Gold

Lorne B. Gold focuses his practice on divorce and other matrimonial law litigation, frequently serving as a mediator in divorce and postjudgment matters. From 2002 until 2010, he served on the council for the State Bar of Michigan's Family Law Section. Mr. Gold chairs the section's "Michigan Family Law Journal" committee, cochairs the section's Mid-Summer Conference, and is a past chairperson of its Continuing Legal Education Committee. He also serves on the planning committee for the annual Family Law Forum and ICLE's Annual Family Law Institute. Mr. Gold is active with numerous local and state bar, bench, and interdisciplinary activities, including the Michigan Inter-Professional Association on Marriage, Divorce, and the Family and the Oakland County Bar Association. Prior to entering private practice, he tried more than 100 cases to verdict as a trial attorney with the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, specializing in high profile and complex felony domestic violence crimes. Mr. Gold has received both the HAVEN Award of Excellence and the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office Distinguished Service Award. A frequent lecturer, Mr. Gold has published articles on a wide range of family law, trial, and discovery matters in both "The Family Advocate" and "Michigan Family Law Journal." In each of the past three years, Mr. Gold has been recognized as a top divorce lawyer by "Law and Politics" magazine and was recognized in 2010 as one of Michigan's Top 100 Superlawyers.
