Hon. Patricia D. Gardner was a partner in a law firm, specializing in probate practice and family law from 1989-1996. She practiced general civil litigation from 1983-1988. She was appointed by Governor Engler to the Kent County Probate Court in January of 1997. Judge Gardner was elected to office in 1998 and 2000 and serves on the Family Division of the Circuit Court. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, the Probate Judges Association, and the Women Lawyers Association. She serves as chairperson for the State of Michigan Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant committee. Judge Gardner is active in the community, serving on a number of nonprofit boards including Michigan's Children, Heart of West Michigan United Way, Hispanic Center of West Michigan, and the Nokomis Foundation Grant Committee.
