Catharine B. LaMont has been working in the real estate and title insurance industry for most of her career. She founded and served as president of LaMont Title Corporation in Detroit before beginning her current position as business development manager for First American Title. Ms. LaMont has written for several publications, including the "Michigan Lawyers Manual" and the "Real Property Review," and has spoken extensively on title and real estate issues, with a focus on commercial and urban redevelopment. She has also been very active in her community, acting as an elder in her church, a Girl Scouts leader, the chair emeritus of Alternatives for Girls, and on the advisory board of Michigan Community Resources.
