Susan E. Cancelosi

An associate professor of law, Susan E. Cancelosi teaches elder law and employee benefits, as well as trusts and decedents' estates. Her research focuses on Medicare and employment-based retiree health benefits. Before joining the Wayne State University Law School faculty, Prof. Cancelosi was a research professor with the Health Law and Policy Institute at the University of Houston Law Center, where she focused primarily on research into various health care finance issues and taught both employee benefits and elder law. Her private practice work covered the full range of employee benefits issues, from traditional retirement plan benefits to all types of welfare benefits and executive compensation. Prof. Cancelosi holds a J.D. from Cornell University Law School, where she served as symposium editor for the "Cornell International Law Journal," and an LL.M. in health law from the University of Houston Law Center. She speaks regularly on topics involving government- and employment-based benefits for the elderly.
