Susan W. Keener has been handling family law matters for more than 34 years. She focuses her practice on collaborative divorce, mediation, and domestic relations litigation. Ms. Keener previously worked as a trial lawyer in a wide range of matters, including sophisticated business disputes. She also served as chair of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Michigan; president of the Grand Rapids Bar Association; and chair of Grand Rapids Bar ADR and Family Law sections. Ms. Keener has spoken frequently on various family law, domestic mediation, and other ADR topics over the course of the last 30-plus years. She has been participating in collaborative trainings for many years, as both a trainer and a trainee, and has participated in various seminars and webinars. During her term as chair of her local collaborative group, Ms. Keener helped establish a pro bono and sliding scale fee program for lower income couples to have access to the collaborative divorce process, receiving a limited number of grants from the IACP to establish such programs.
