Kathleen M. Hanenburg chairs the firm's Immigration Practice Group and specializes in business immigration, representing clients who hire non-U.S. workers for highly skilled and technical positions, as well as businesses needing to transfer executive and managerial personnel from abroad to the United States. She also counsels human resource professionals on immigration and I-9 compliance issues. Ms. Hanenburg advises automotive suppliers on numerous immigration issues in connection with the outsourcing of technical functions to Asia and assists multinational companies in the coordination of immigration and tax advice for highly compensated foreign nationals. She is a former vice chairperson and executive board member of the Michigan chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Ms. Hanenburg is also a member of the Business Law and International Law Sections of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan. A frequent lecturer to industry and professional groups on immigration and I-9 compliance, she was named a "Michigan Super Lawyer" in 2007 and 2008 and is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America." Ms. Hanenburg received her law degree from the University of Michigan magna cum laude and was awarded the Order of the Coif.
