George T. Roumell Jr. practiced in the area of labor and employment arbitration. He was a past president of the State Bar of Michigan (1985-86), past president of the Detroit Bar Association (1973-74), and a member of the Arbitration Committee, Labor and Employment Law Section, American Bar Association, and the IRRA. Mr. Roumell was the recipient of the Whitney North Seymour Award for Contributions to Arbitration, was selected as one of Michigan's most influential lawyers of 1990 (Michigan Lawyers Weekly), and was a recipient of the Walter P. Reuther Distinguished Service Award. He also received the Labor and Employment Law Section's Distinguished Service Award. Mr. Roumell was an adjunct professor of law at Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University College of Law) and spoke at various programs throughout the country. He wrote frequently on labor and arbitration issues, including "Roumell, Second Annual Survey of Sixth Circuit Labor Law," (Detroit College of Law 1981). Mr. Roumell died in January of 2025.
