DAVID B. CALZONE

Plymouth, Michigan


Currently serving as a neutral mediator of labor and employment disputes, Mr. Calzone was previously a director and shareholder of Vercruysse Murray & Calzone, PC, and has more than 30 years of experience practicing on behalf of public and private sector employers in the areas of employment discrimination, labor litigation, labor arbitration, appellate litigation, and complex class action litigation. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, where he was inducted into the legal honorary, the Order of the Coif. Mr. Calzone is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, where he served on the council for nine years and is a former chairperson of the section. He is also a member of the Labor and Employment Committee of the Federal Bar Association and the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, where he serves on the Employee Rights and Responsibilities Committee. Mr. Calzone is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the Michigan State Bar Foundation and a member of the American Employment Law Council. He is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" (since 2001), "Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business" (since 2005), Michigan Super Lawyers (since 2006), Michigan Super Lawyers Top 100 (since 2009), and "Who's Who Legal USA – Management Labour and Employment" (2006). Mr. Calzone is also a coeditor of "Employment Litigation in Michigan" (ICLE 1999) and a coeditor and a chapter author of "Employment Litigation in Michigan" (ICLE 2d ed 2004).
