Differentiated Case Scheduling
at the Court of Appeals
                                                         

     On December 23, 2002, the Court issued Administrative Order No. 2002-5,
which, effective immediately, temporarily authorized the Court of Appeals to give
precedence on its session calendar under Rule 7.213(C) of the Michigan Court Rules to
appeals that the Court of Appeals determines are appropriate for differentiated case
management.  Notice and an opportunity for comment at a public hearing having been
provided, Administrative Order No. 2002-5 is retained until December 31, 2003, at
which time the Court will decide whether to amend Rule 7.213(C) on a permanent basis.
